You can be kicked off the Federal Do Not Call List
If you change providers. If you change the name on your account (such as spouse to spouse).
Privacy Policy
I DO NOT sell off your personal information! To me, privacy matters!
Here is what that means in practice:
The Federal Do Not Call List, and the opt-out list that stops the credit bureaus from selling your personal info.
I have helped clients get on this list for years!
I believe the list in and of itself is worthless. But the list is helpful for filing complaints with state licensing entities for ethics violations. Besides notifying the licensing agency, also contact the state Attorney General and Governor.
If you change providers. If you change the name on your account (such as spouse to spouse).
I got on this list back in 2025. As of mid-2026, even when I have gone and applied for credit, I have not ended up with too much additional junk mail coming in.
The problem is if XYZ business already purchased your info, they will continue to have it in spite of the credit bureaus removing you. But hopefully this will keep new marketers from getting your info and filling your mail box.
Wondering about spam calls, the Do Not Call Registry, or junk mail? Ask here. This is general information, not legal advice, and please do not share phone numbers or other personal details.
